This is a review of a new book on the market that I highly recommend to all who wish to learn how to manage their tanks better, save money, and have healthier tanks.
Robert Metelsky has written a book, Simplified Reefkeeping, whose title describes the content of the book very accurately. If you wish to set up a tank and you are interested in saving money, and have the time and willingness to fabricate required components yourself, Robert hit it right on the mark. In fact he describes all the equipment you need and explains how you can build it yourself with component lists and sources. If you do not wish to do so he gives you lots of information on where to obtain them.
The book is geared towards the beginning and intermediate hobbyists and the techniques can be applied to any size tank. The book contains drawings, graphics, artwork and everything else you need to set up a complete aquarium. Robert has taken a real novel approach but has researched it so well that his book is a pleasure to read. Even if you think you know a lot, hold off as you can still learn from Simplified Reefkeeping. I wholeheartedly recommend the book to anyone who is interested in setting up a tank. You will really feel it is yours as you may have built it from scratch or just about, using Robert's numerous and accurate tips. A needed addition to the saltwater and reefkeeping hobby.
