Rather than diving deep into scientific details about water chemistry and biological processes (like many other books on Reef Keeping I've purchased), "Simplified Reef Keeping" takes a "Just the Facts" attitude about what works and what doesn't from a practical standpoint. The information in this book is presented in a very unintimidating manner.
It is important to note, however, that there are more than enough "scientific" details for most people.
The fundamental philosphy presented in the book seems to be "Waste Removal" (via changing prefilters frequently and top notch protein skimming) as opposed to "Waste Processing" (via various chemical and biological processes) is completely logical and easy to understand.
I look forward to seeing an updated edition with color pictures and even more information.
