1. What size tank in gallons and aprox LxW - 30g 30x12x18
2. Amount of liverock aprox. lb. - 48lb or 1.6 lb per gallon
3. Substrate Y/N lb.amount, thickness, type. - 2-3in. 50/50% mix araginite and live sand
4. Sump Y/N size in gallons - no sump
5. Do you use a prefilter Y/N - yes
6. Frequency of water changes and amount changed - about 20%/mth.
7. Preferred salt mix - presently use deep ocean but prefer kent
8. Preferred additives - kent (kalk, tectra iodine, str/mol), amazing coral reef calcium chloride and magnesium
9. Preferred test kits lamotte calcium (actually use amazing coral reef calcium test, it uses the same re-agents but at a much reduced cost), it works o.k. at best. Use Red Sea pH and alk test with good results.
10. Method of adding calcium - calcium chloride to bump up and kalk to maintain

23. What you feel is the biggest challenge in keeping a reef tank - understanding the chemistry of a reef tank well enough to be able to maintain a stable and healthy system for all inhabitants at a reasonable cost.
