Still battling the bryopsis.  One week, it seems to be in remission, then it
will bloom again.  I use R/O water only, have cut down the light to 2.5
watts/gal.  So far, all water parameters are good except alkalinity, which I
can't seem to maintain higher than 3-4 meq/l.  I know I'm not the first to
have trouble with it, since chapters and even entire books are written about
how to control it.  I have a degree in zoology, so I understand the
concepts, but I am frustrated enough now that I am tempted to remove each
rock, scrub it off and put it back in-but I know that would only solve the
problem temporarily.  

Yes... definitely don't do that ;-)
