I was wondering if you can safely move by hand loose mushrooms in the tank?

Well since receiving your book I have made quite a few changes to my 55 tank; changed to VHO lighting, added more live rock, snails and crabs, a serpent star and coral banded shrimp, removed the bio material in my CPR sump to name a few. I am continuing to fight with algae in the tank , but I believe I am getting it under control with the changes I've made. As promised I have found your book informative and helpful.

Thank you very much

I was wondering if you can safely move by hand loose mushrooms in the tank. My large hairy mushrooms went through fission a few months ago and two small ones fell off the rock and on to the sand, as well as having a few green striped mushrooms move from their rock. Can I pick them up without harming them and place them on rocks? They are not receiving very good light where they are and the mushrooms from fission have remained quite small.

Yes you can move then easily, the problem is to have them stay in place . Sometimes they do other times not. The easiest solution is to use fishing line, or elastic bands to fasten them.

Also I was wonder about your opinion on feeding live phytoplankton? Could this be contributing to my war with algae? I'm using a half of tablespoon every other day. I don't recall you talking about this in your book.

Im not sure. It depends on what's actually in the phytoplankton. Maybe a good idea is to stop using it for a while and see. What I would suggest is the recipe for home made food. If you follow the directions and use it I think you'll find it better for your tank than anything you would buy pre made. definitely try it. It very inexpensive and is remarkable.

Let me know the results if you use the recipe.
