Unfortunately there aren't allot of reef shops in CT. There used to be an excellent store in Hamden called Ocean Garden but they have been closed for a few years.
Probably the premier store is located in Milford, called Marine Inverts 912 Boston Post Road Milford 203 783 1233 They have most everything however the prices are through the roof. A smaller store is in Berlin called Aquarium World run by Chuck and Nick 860 828 8499 They are mainly a freshwater shop although what they have on reefs is quite nice and affordable. Clubs in the area would be Norwalk Aquarium although not too much reef but an excellent club New York Aquarium (e.g. Brooklyn aquarium) a very serious club and I would highly recommend attending one of their meetings. Although its several hours away, they have a huge auction at every meeting (which can go until 2 - 3 am!) I gave a talk there a few years ago... and was highly impressed. There is not too much in CT, I would recommend buying supplies and livestock online as the local stores seem to be only profit oriented. Wish I could have been more help Robert
